She left Ecosence and consulted on her own for another ten years. Thirty years’ experience has honed a wide range of skills in the fields of ecology, environmental planning and assessment. Acting as a facilitator between managers or clients, specialists and officials has mostly led to results that best suit both the environment and the client or manager. BSc Forestry (US) Hon Business Administration (US) Vice-President Of Southern African Institute Of Forestry (SAIF) Braam worked as Assistant District Forest Officer for the Department of Forestry in Forestry and Conservation Management at Tsitsikamma Regional Office in Humansdorp. He then spent two years working for CPA Nature Conservation before moving back to Dept. of Forestry in Cape Town, from where he was transferred to SAFCOL and later to MTO Forestry (Pty) Ltd as Area Manager for Boland Plantations. During the 16 years in line management he was exposed to various aspects of commercial forestry from seedling to sawmill. Between 2005 and 2017 Braam worked as Forestry Risk Manager for MTO. After 35 years in corporate forestry, he started consulting on wildfires including fire investigations, fire litigation, technical forestry related work and training.
